Typography Simulator

Try thumbnail text before you use it: pick a font, size, outline, shadow, angle, and position, and see it on a 1280 x 720 canvas. Your text and any photo you add stay in your browser. The display fonts load from Google Fonts, so they need an internet connection; without it, the canvas falls back to a standard bold font.

Preview is scaled to fit this page. The download is the full 1280 x 720 PNG.

How to use it

  1. Type the words you want on the thumbnail.
  2. Pick a font, size, outline, and shadow, then drag the position and angle until the text sits where you want it.
  3. Download the 1280 x 720 PNG and place it on your thumbnail, or check the result first with the Thumbnail Score tool.

Tips for readable text

  • Keep it short: three or four words read better than a full sentence at small sizes.
  • Use a dark outline or shadow when the text sits on a bright photo.
  • Check the preview at a small size before you download, because that is how most viewers will first see it.

Limits: this tool draws text only; it does not edit the photo itself, and the exact font on another device depends on which fonts that device has. Read the guide: How to pick thumbnail fonts that stay readable.
